Inspectors from the Nato and OSCE countries are taking a training course at the Defense Ministry of Belarus.
The National Agency for Verification and Inspections - Department of the Defense Ministry is conducting a course on the exchange of experience of inspectors (accompanying) under the arms control treaties and on the Russian language skills. The course is running from August 30 to September 10.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs found no proof to allegations as if visas had been illegally issued; the person who sent the anonymous information could not be identified with the means within the competence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," stated the ministry's press spokesperson Kersti Luha.
The official of the Customs Committee Andrej Mikhalkevich: "The quantity of tobacco products illegally transported to the European Union substantially increased. More than 100 million cigarettes have been arrested so far, and only 77 for the whole last year. The quantity of arrested alcoholic products is also high, and there's a high dynamic of increasing thereof. About 5 tons were arrested for the same period last year, this year - more than 43,5 tons. There is also an increase in quantity of arrests and contraband of drugs.
A Belarusian parliamentary delegation led by Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Vladimir Andreichenko is set to visit Vietnam in October, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergei Aleinik said in a solemn meeting to mark the 65th anniversary of Vietnam’s independence.
External national debt of Belarus amounted to more than 25 trillion Belarusian roubles, which is approximately 8,5 billion US dollars, on the date of August 1. The fixed limit is 11 billion dollars. Such information was provided by the Belarusian Ministry of Finance. The whole dept is composed mostly of long-term debts.
Belarus' foreign trade in goods increased by 16.9 percent in the first seven months of 2010 to $30,785.7 million, said the National Statistics Committee. The country’s exports reportedly increased by 20.6 percent to 13,292.3 million and imports by 14.2 percent to $17,493.4 million. The deficit in trade in goods thus totaled $4,201.2 million, down from $4,291.3 million in the first seven months of 2009.
Russian Foreign Ministry has called the attack against the embassy in Minsk “outrageous” and demanded those behind the incident be punished. “Certain forces’ intentions to obstruct the normal functioning of the embassy and to add elements of mistrust and tension to bilateral relations can clearly be seen behind it,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
On 1 October the Slovak Embassy in Belarus starts a pilot project on issuing Schengen visas through travel agencies so that tourists will not have to apply to the embassy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Belarus Marian Servatka told reporters. The main goal of the pilot project is to facilitate the development of tourism, ease the conditions and shorten the terms for obtaining the visa.
New German Ambassador Christof Weil took part in a ceremony held at a general education school in the village of Kalodzishchy near Minsk o open a playground whose construction was financed by the German embassy under a technical assistance program.The ambassador described the playground project as a good beginning for his diplomatic mission and not the last project of its kind to be carried out by the embassy.
