
An official delegation of Belarus may attend festivities to be held this year in Poland to mark the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald, Deputy Culture Minister Tadeush Struzhetski told reports in Minsk on Thursday, as quoted by BelaPAN.
The deputy minister expressed hope that Warsaw would send the invitation.
The Polish culture minister and Lithuanian officials were invited to anniversary festivities to take place in the Hrodna region’s Navahrudak between June 25 and 27, according to the deputy minister.
The battle took place on July 15, 1410, with the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania beating the knights of the Teutonic Order.
